On the day of the procedure the informed consent was again gone through. Local Anaesthetic - Xylocaine 1 or 2% with Adrenaline can be used. It was a fairly simple matter to snip off the polyp and the tags. A decision needs to be made as to whether any suturing is required based on the amount of bleeding.

She was given advice about post-operative bleeding, bathing the area, pain relief and warned about the possibility of fainting. It was arranged that she should be seen again in one week. She was also warned that there could be a considerable amount of swelling in the area after the procedure.
