Overview for Sebaceous Cysts
SUMMARY: This was a large infected recurrent cyst. The surgery took place in the office under Local Anaesthetic. It was important to explain to the patient that there was a need for follow up and that the wound would be packed and not sutured. The entire process takes approximately three weeks. It does avoid the need for a complete wide excision, which is fairly major surgery. The dressings need to be changed on a regular basis. Exploration of the wound must be gentle and not hurt the patient. Author: Maurice Brygel E-mail: mbrygel@netspace.net.au Homepage: http://www.hernia.net.au/ |
